Vivere in Spagna nel 2018: qual’è il costo della vita?

Spain: going to live abroad always involves a sacrifice for everyone, getting used to a different lifestyle from today to tomorrow is a small trauma even for the most daring. Obviously there are many cultures and countries in the world and not all of them transmit the same effect, everything depends on how much the new country is different from Italy.

INCOME OF CITIZENSHIP IN SPAIN

The cost of living in Spain in 2018

Spain is the most similar nation to ours, both in terms of people, culture and language. Living in Spain in 2018 is no longer a jump in the oxen as it could be several years ago, now thanks to the internet you know many things before leaving and you know more or less what awaits us. Spain then has several regions, each with its traditions and peculiarities, just like Italy. Already if we think of Tenerife (Canary, Spain) and compare it with Galicia (Northern Spain), we will realize how different they are, both in culture and in language than in the cost of living and in the provision of services. In reality we should not be surprised … are Southern Italy and Northern Italy the same or are they very different? that’s right … it’s the same thing in Spain.

The cost of living in Spain in 2018 depends a lot on the city and region where you intend to move, the less touristy places obviously cost less while the most popular ones can be very expensive (even if not too much). For example, Tenerife up to 6/7 years ago was an island where with little money you could live well and take a nice house for rent … now with the arrival in mass of European immigrants (many Italians) prices have leavened .

The most expensive city in Spain for now is Barcelona, where a two-room apartment can also cost about 1,000 euros a month. Madrid the cost of rents is lower, around 700 euros for the same house. In the far north (Bilbao) or in the south like Valencia the prices are lower and a two-room apartment is about 500 euros. The public transport system is quite efficient all over the country, but the costs vary a lot from city to city.

Of course, the Balearics, like Ibiza and Formentera, are also part of Spain, where, however, housing prices are dubbed by international tourism (as in the Canary Islands). So during the winter you will easily find an accommodation with prices in line with those in Spain but in summer for the same house you will pay more than double if not triple.

Supermarket spending is generally about 20% cheaper than in Italy, especially for fruit and vegetables (most coming from the country).

Public health is in line with the Italian one, while the private one is very widespread and it is easy to obtain private insurance that will allow you to access private clinics for visits and exams with little money (about 50 euros per month per person).
